Now Foods XyliWhite Toothpaste Gel Refreshmint | Fluoride-Free | Large Size | 181 g

Now Foods Natural Refreshmint Fluoride-Free Toothpaste comes in a large 181 gram tube for daily tooth cleaning and fresh breath within a fluoride-free oral care routine. Leaving fluoride out here is an explicit formulation decision rather than an incidental gap, and it means the cleaning job rests entirely on a gentle abrasive and foaming agents rather than on an added mineral compound. It suits anyone who wants to control the fluoride sources they meet each day, and anyone who prefers a clear mint flavour without sharpness.

What is fluoride-free toothpaste?

Fluoride-free toothpaste is a cleaning paste whose formula contains no fluoride compound such as sodium fluoride or sodium monofluorophosphate. Fluoride in toothpaste is a mineral compound added for a purpose specific to the enamel surface, and in its absence the paste's function rests on the mechanical removal of dental plaque. Any toothpaste formula is built on three basic categories: a gentle abrasive, surface-tension-lowering agents, and humectants that hold the texture together.

Benefits of Refreshmint toothpaste

• Gentle daily cleaning: the mild abrasive lifts food debris and soft plaque off the tooth surface without scratching enamel.
• Fresh breath: the refreshing mint flavour covers odours arising from bacterial activity in the mouth after meals.
• Cooling sensation after brushing: mint leaves a sense of freshness that carries on after cleaning ends.
• A fluoride-free routine: suits anyone managing their daily fluoride sources by personal choice or on a dentist's guidance.
• Large tube: 181 grams covers a longer stretch of daily use and cuts down on reordering.
• One flavour for the household: the refreshing mint is pitched to be clear without the sharpness that bothers anyone sensitive to strong flavours.

How toothpaste works in the mouth

Toothpaste works through three parallel mechanisms rather than one. The gentle abrasive breaks the bacterial biofilm's grip on the enamel surface through friction with the brush bristles, and this is the primary cleaning action. The surface-tension-lowering agents produce foam and carry fats and debris so rinsing them away is easier, spreading the paste into places bristles do not reach directly. Mint, for its part, acts on the cold receptors of the oral mucosa, the same receptors that respond to a drop in temperature, which is where the sense of freshness comes from without any actual cooling.

What sets this formula apart

Now Foods toothpaste combines three choices in one product: a fluoride-free formula, a refreshing mint flavour, and a 181 gram tube larger than standard sizes. The difference between fluoride-free and fluoride-containing toothpaste is a difference in coverage rather than in the cleaning act itself, because mechanical plaque removal happens equally in both cases, while fluoride adds an action specific to the enamel surface alone. Choosing between them therefore stays a question to settle with a dentist according to each person's susceptibility to decay.

Who is this product for?

• Anyone wanting a daily fluoride-free toothpaste for home use.
• Anyone managing their daily fluoride sources by personal choice or on a dentist's guidance.

How to use

Place a pea-sized amount of Natural Refreshmint Toothpaste on a soft-bristled brush, brush the surface of each tooth along the gum line for two minutes, then rinse the mouth with water. Repeat at least twice daily or as a dentist directs, and complete the routine with dental floss for the spaces between teeth that bristles cannot reach. Close the tube after each use and keep it in a dry place away from heat.

Frequently asked questions

Is fluoride-free toothpaste suitable for daily use?

Fluoride-free toothpaste is designed for daily use at least twice a day, like any other cleaning paste. Anyone with a high susceptibility to decay is better off consulting their dentist before dropping fluoride from their routine.

How does toothpaste clean teeth without fluoride?

Toothpaste cleans primarily through mechanical action: the gentle abrasive breaks the bacterial biofilm off the enamel surface through friction with the brush bristles, and foaming agents carry the debris away for easier rinsing. Fluoride plays no part in that mechanical action, so its absence does not disable cleaning.

How long should brushing last?

The accepted brushing time is two minutes per session, because breaking the biofilm off every tooth surface takes time spread across both jaws. A shorter session leaves areas the brush never reached, particularly the back surfaces and the gum line.

Caution

Do not swallow; supervise children's use; stop if gum or mouth irritation occurs and consult a dentist.
